LGBT alumni, recent grads, and undergraduate and graduate/professional students are invited to attend a networking event. Whether you are contemplating graduate or professional school, thinking about changing jobs, interested in mentoring or just meeting new LGBT contacts, this event can be helpful to you. The format will begin with career field sector introduction groups (facilitated by an experienced alum), an "open mic" for self-introductions, then open mingling, light refreshments, casual conversations and networking.
About our evenings agenda:
6:30 pm - Arrive, Welcome
6:45 - Introduction Circles. This exercise will group alumni and students by employment sector for brief self-introductions.
You note a first choice and second choice sector in your registration:
1-For Profit Large/Corporate, 2-For Profit Small business/entrepreneurial, 3-Banking/Finance,
4 Non-profit/Government/Education, 5-Creative careers, 6-STEM/Health careers
7:15 - Short campus/LGBT conference updates from student leaders, etc.
7:35 - Open Mic self-introductions (alumni who are hiring, work in multi-disciplinary careers or switched careers, or are in small disciplines).
7:50 - Open Mingling - You may move among the groups throughout the networking period.
We especially invite all of our Ivy League, Seven Sisters, NYU, Stanford, Duke, UVA, U Chicago, Georgetown, Ithaca College, Northwestern, Amherst, USC & Emory friends. Our friends and loved ones from other schools are welcome as well (they register under “professionals!" Alumni, faculty, staff, and students are welcome.
Co-sponsored by the CUGALA and FFR/Princeton BTGALA, Cornell Career Services, Diversity Alumni Programs, Cornell LGBT Resource Center, and the Princeton LGBT Center. Thanks to Cornell U GALA and FFR/Princeton BTGALA for funding this event. Thanks to our co-hosts Nancy Law of Cornell University, Shawn Cowls of FFR/Princeton BTGALA and Dan Welden of the NYU LGBTQ Alumni Network.
